Literally on the border of England and Wales, Celtic Lodge is an interesting renovation of a stone building. Formerly the Bridge End Inn, it occupies an imposing position on the banks of the Dulas Stream within five minute walk of Hay Town Centre now famous for its book shops yet in a quiet location less than 100 metres from the River Wye.

Celtic Lodge is situated within the Brecon Beacons National Park with Brecon 16 miles to the West and Hereford 20 miles in the opposite direction. Surrounded by footpaths including the famous Offas Dyke Path and the long distance Wye Valley Walk, Celtic Lodge is a good base for an outdoor holiday with many activities like pony trekking, gorge walking and canoeing on the doorstep.

The owners having many years experience of outdoor pursuits and a good local knowledge are on hand to give guidance.

Tower Bedroom

Main Bedroom

The accommodation offers the equivalent of a large three bedroom house with ancillary flexible lounge areas and interesting spaces giving the interior a somewhat Scandinavian feel.

The 'Tower' bedroom has a dual aspect facing the bridge and road on one side and the garden and stream on the other. This window affords the ideal viewing point for the kingfishers and herons which frequent the Dulas stream. This twin bedded room has an ensuite bathroom with shower and bath.

The other bedrooms each sleep four and are designed on a flexible bed-sitting room principle. These rooms also have considerable character being formed in the roof space with exposed beams and twin dormers. A second bathroom with shower is convenient for these other rooms whilst a gallery room provides useful additional space.

The front door leads into the 'Tower' ground floor which is a cosy dining room with ample seating, a wood burning stove and views over the stream. Linked to the dining room is a separate well equipped kitchen with gas hob, microwave, washing machine and ample storage space.
